ذور الشيا أو التشيا، يطلق عليها بالعربية بذور القصعين أو المريمية، تشيا هو النوع الإسباني من المريمية. أصل كلمة تشيا جاء ممتدا لأصل هذه البذور في المكسيك حيث موطنها الأصلي، هناك تُقدم بذور الشيا المطحونة مع الماء والليمون والسكر كشراب تقليدي يسمى” تشيا فريسكا
فوائد الشيا
عالية بالألياف
تحتوي الملعقة الكبيرة من بذور الشيا على 4.8 غرام من الألياف الذي يساعد الجهاز الهضمي في عمله بكفاءة وامتصاص العناصر الغذائية بامتياز. الجسم بحاجة لحوالي 35 غرام من الالياف يومياً بالتالي ملعقتين من بذور الشيا تغطي 30% من حاجة الجسم للالياف في اليوم.
غنية بالأوميغا 3
تحتوي بذور الشيا على نسبة عالية من أوميغا 3 الذي يعمل على زيادة الذكاء ومقاومة السرطان وتقليل الكوليسترول الضار. الاوميغا 3 في الشيا هي الاوميغا النباتية (ALA). ملعقتين من بذور الشيا تغطي حاجة الجسم كاملة من الاوميغا3. ويجدر الاشارة ان الاوميغا 3 في الشيا مختلف عن الاوميغا 3 نباتي لا يغني عن الاوميغا 3 من الاسماك DHA و EPA

تستهلك بذور الشيا كحبوب كاملة بدون الحاجة لطحنها على عكس بذر الكتان. ليس لبذور الشيا اي نكهة لذلك يمكن اضافتها على اي طبق من دون ان تؤثر على الطعم. يمكن اضافة بذور الشيا للمعجنات، العسل، الكوكتيل، الكيك المحضر منزلياً، الحليب والموز، صواني الدجاج، يخنة الباميا، الملوخية، البان كيك، والكثير الكثير من الأطباق.
